This is a generative theatrical script composed through dialogue between the characters:
Tien, a performer, is cast as "a performer,"
Claire, a writer, is cast as "a writer,"
Yezhou Zheng, a video maker, is cast as "a video maker," Kim, an AI interlocutor, is cast as "an AI interlocutor,"
Theo, the messenger, is cast as "the messenger."
The writer generates a piece of text, and the performer responds with a gesture; the messenger takes the writer's text to the AI interlocutor.
The writer responds to the performer with more text, and the performer responds by furthering the performance. This theatrical script is produced in all possible ways and changes every time the play is
This toys with the arbitrary nature of language and gesture while, at the same time, enabling the intimate connection between these theatrical
elements as such between subject and predicate in a sentence
The video maker uses the camera to interrupt the chain of responding and projects it as a secret spectator. The action of this spy seems
passive at the beginning but becomes an active reading of the
performance with the power or manipulating it.
The play has multiple rehearsals and will always maintain that status.
